The medical examination for work permit issuance is a frequently requested service at H PLUS International Medical Center.

This package is primarily used by foreign nationals who require medical results to obtain a work permit in Vietnam.

Below are eight questions we commonly receive, together with detailed answers:

1. What is included in the Work Permit medical package?

The package includes a full clinical examination (including gynecological examination for female patients), blood and urine tests, chest X-ray, visual acuity and color vision testing, dental screening, and specialist consultations as required: Internal Medicine, ENT, Dermatology, General Surgery, Dental & Oral Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Obstetrics & Gynecology.

2. Is chest X-ray mandatory?

Yes. Chest X-ray is a compulsory component of the Work Permit medical dossier to screen for pulmonary conditions, particularly tuberculosis. Female patients who may be pregnant must inform reception in advance to receive safe alternative arrangements.

3. How long is the medical certificate valid?

Medical results for the Work Permit are generally valid for six months from the date of issue. We recommend confirming the validity requirement with the receiving authority handling your application.

4. What happens if abnormal findings are detected?

A specialist physician will explain the findings, assess the impact on fitness to work, and provide guidance on treatment or further specialized testing if required.

5. Will the Work Permit dossier be accepted if some required items are missing?

No. Omission of any required item will render the medical dossier incomplete and unacceptable; the individual will not receive a health classification (e.g., Category I, II, III), which may result in refusal or delay of the work permit application or renewal.

6. Does the Work Permit medical package include gynecological examination for female patients?

Yes. For female patients, the package includes an obstetric/gynecological examination to ensure the medical dossier meets current regulatory requirements.

7. Are medical reports issued by H PLUS accepted for Work Permit applications in Vietnam?

Yes. H PLUS’s Work Permit medical package is structured in accordance with Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT regarding medical examinations for foreign nationals, ensuring that the dossier is acceptable to the competent labor authorities in Vietnam.

8. When is re-examination or supplementary testing required?

If test results reveal conditions that may affect fitness to work—such as hypertension, elevated liver enzymes, or pulmonary abnormalities—the attending physician will advise on treatment, monitoring, and any additional testing or re-examination needed to complete the medical dossier.
